Useless Skills March 21, 2011

Today is an extremely hungover day. I had a family wedding on Friday and then a liquidation sale, in my local, last night. I am not able to function properly at all! So it’s a nice and easy blog post :-) Over the weekend, I was reading on a forum about useless skills that we possess. It made me realise I have quite a catalogue of completely, utterly, useless skills. I’m going to share these with you and would love for you to share yours with me!

1. I can control my Tensor Tympani muscle. This is something I thought everyone could do, but I was wrong! I am now fascinated that when people yawn, they can still hear around them. The rumbling noise muffles all outside noise for me.

2. I can wiggle my ears. A proper, full on wiggle of the upper ear, left and right, without moving any other body part.

3. I can voluntarily blur my vision. Another thing I thought everyone could do, but asking around, found a few friends who couldn’t. I can also rapidly move my eyes from side to side, I look like I’m having a seizure.

4. I can flex my nostrils.

5. I can roll my tongue. I learnt, years ago, that this is a (kind of) genetic thing. I had a friend who couldn’t do this. Hilarious watching her try!

6. I can click my left thumb.

7. I can imitate the Vulcan salute, straight off. Another one that gives me some amusement while watching people struggle to do it. .

8. I can cross my eyes

9. I can flex my boobs like a body builder flexes his/her chest.

10. I am right handed. When I write with my left hand, I write in perfect mirror writing style. It’s messy, as my hand is untrained, but every letter is perfectly backwards

Clearly, it is a slow news day in my life…

Pardon the dodgy links, a trying to fix them. WordPress is not my friend today.
Still, please tell me your useless skills too!
